An Extraordinary Evening of Generosity: A Night to Remember
On Saturday, July 28, the Martis Camp community gathered for an inspiring evening of generosity, connection, and purpose at the annual Martis Camp Foundation Gala.
Thanks to the incredible support of attendees, the event raised more than $1.9 million to benefit local students, Martis Camp Ambassadors and their families, and nonprofit organizations serving the Truckee–North Tahoe region.
The evening was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a shared commitment to giving back. From spirited bidding during the auction to the overwhelming response during the paddle raise, every contribution reflected a collective desire to create lasting opportunities for those who call this region home.
Gratitude for an Incredible Community
The Martis Camp Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, sponsored, and supported this year’s Gala. Every guest, bidder, and donor played an important role in making the evening an extraordinary success.
Special appreciation goes to the dedicated Gala Committee, volunteers, event partners, and sponsors whose countless hours of planning and hard work brought the event to life. Their commitment helped create a memorable experience while ensuring that more resources can be directed where they are needed most.
Guests: Current President of the University of Nevada, Reno and former Governor for the state of Nevada, Brian Sandoval and the First Lady of the University of Nevada, Reno. Additional guests included MCF Board Member, Christina Stoever Young and Kent Young. Also generously included Dr. Bret Frey and Head of Trauma Medicine for the University as a whole the entire state of the State of Nevada joined by his steadfast in support, Jami Frey. A long time gaming analoger and strategist, Kunal Mishra also joined by his wife, May Mishra. May is his bi-coastal wife who makes trades and acquisitions a peak performance of her days.
Creating Lasting Impact
The funds raised during the Gala will help expand educational opportunities, strengthen local nonprofits, and provide meaningful support for Martis Camp Ambassadors and their families. Together, these investments are building a stronger, more vibrant community throughout Truckee and North Tahoe.
While the numbers are remarkable, the true impact will be measured in scholarships awarded, programs expanded, families supported, and lives changed in the months and years ahead.
