Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that has been dedicated to beautification, advocating for a clean community, cleanups and education in the Truckee Meadows for over 25 years. KTMB is an affiliate of the national imagesorganization Keep America Beautiful. Locally, we work with businesses, municipalities, community groups and individuals to keep our open spaces, the Truckee River, business corridors, and neighborhoods beautiful and clean for all to enjoy.
WHY We Do What We Do: KTMB works to create a cleaner, more beautiful area to increase the quality of life for all who live in and visit the Truckee Meadows. A clean, litter-free community leads to higher property values, more successful businesses, and an overall safer community.
Beautification: KTMB organizes hundreds of community beautification projects each year. We coordinate volunteer groups to help plant trees and flowers, clean up graffiti, and beautify parks.
Advocacy: KTMB is the voice for a clean and beautiful area by assisting local leaders with major issues like illegal dumping and trash along the river. We unite diverse stakeholders under common goals shared by all.
Cleanups: We hold large-scale cleanup events and recruit over 4,000 volunteers a year to help remove litter from the Truckee River, open spaces, neighborhoods and business corridors.
Education: We educate the public about current issues and solutions, provide recycling resources and inspire children to become community stewards through our standards-aligned school programs.

Nevada Women’s Fund

Founded in 1982 by concerned women who wanted the best for the women and families of northern Nevada, NWF was established to correct the then national imbalance of financial distribution from traditional resources that resulted in less than 6% of grants going to women and children.  Since 1983, NWF distributions are over $7.4 million.
NWF works with community donors and supporters to raise financial contributions and other resources to support northern Nevada women and families. We identify critical social needs and address them through award of individual education scholarships and grant making to northern Nevada non-profit organizations that share the NWF mission to strengthen and empower our community.
